Edinburgh Nights – Friday 27th September

And so September draws to an end, and the first month of Edinburgh Nights are over. Still, October is just round the corner, and there’s lots to do this weekend.

Here, once more, are a few ideas on theatre shows, on music events, on band gigs, and open door events this weekend in Edinburgh. What will you do in the capital?

Traverse Theatre

Phil Cunningham (Phil and Aly)

Also featuring Thom Dibden (from All Edinburgh Theatre) and his weekend preview of the theatrical shows; music from Steve Heron,  Callum Beattie, Melanie Pain, and Jason Kyrone; and another round of 20 Questions Wrong, with the bassist from Where’s George?, Chris Robinson, in the hot seat of incorrectness.

Twenty Questions Wrong, with Chris Robinson

Chris Robinson takes up the challenge of ‘Twenty Questions Wrong‘ this week. It’s a simple idea, just answer the questions incorrectly. Get them all wrong, and the top score is yours and you’ll be on top of the leader board. But sometimes you just can’t help getting one right.

And did we mention it’s against the clock as well?

Twenty Questions Wrong is part of the weekly Edinburgh Nights chat show, and is made available as a standalone podcast for quiz fans and those looking for a shorter show to listen to. You can follow 20QW through its own RSS Feed, or subscribe to 20QW in iTunes.

Coming up on this week’s Edinburgh Nights…

Finalising the guest list for the show today, and it looks like in the hour we’ll have a number of guests from the Edinburgh scene this weekend, including…

  • Ewan Donald, who will be taking to the stage at The Traverse for a two night run of ‘The Baroness‘.
  • We’ll have music from the three piece indie rock band ‘Where’s George?
  • Mary Bourke plays The Stand this week, and she’ll be popping into the studio for a chat… and to take on the challenge of ‘20 Questions Wrong‘.

And we’ll have our regular musical playlist from the bands playing Edinburgh this weekend, and Tom Dibden from All Edinburgh Theatre takes us round the theatrical shows in the Capital.

Join your host Ewan Spence for ‘Edinburgh Nights’, live at 3pm this Friday 27th September on 98.8 Castle FM, listen live on the Castle FM 1 webstream (www.castlefmscotland.com), or head to the Edinburgh Nights homepage (edinburghnights.thepodcastcorner.com) to download the podcast after the show and listen again.
